An Evening with Paul Karslake in aid of Alex’s Wish - Wednesday 9th October 2019

We were delighted to have the opportunity to support the charity ‘Alex’s Wish’ for boys with Duchenne and host an event alongside Sara Lovatt of ‘Bad Art’ on Wednesday 9th October 2019. The event was called ‘An Evening with Paul Karslake’ and was held at Lumbers Jewellers in Leicester.

Our guests had the exclusive opportunity to preview Paul’s newest collection. Paul showcased his amazing original pieces, which transformed Banksy’s most famous works into fine art interpretations as “a homage” to the anonymous graffiti artist. Paul recreated the street art in the style of the old masters and even created handmade elaborate fibreglass frames for the canvasses. He said the work was his tribute to the legendary street artist and was “one of the most exciting and fun collections he has worked on”.

The evening started with a drinks reception comprising of wonderful gin cocktails provided by North 42 Gin and an opportunity to bid for a one off piece Paul kindly painted onto one of their famous pink gin bottles. We sponsored the printing of t-shirts, featuring some of Paul’s work, to be sold on the evening with all proceeds to Alex’s Wish. We also sponsored providing canvases and paints for our guests to purchase on the night, in aid of the charity, and have a go at copying one of Paul’s pieces. We had many budding artists in the audience and Paul chose the overall winner. All profits went to the charity and we were able to raise a total of £4,000 on the night for ‘Alex’s Wish’.
